BLUES SOCIETY OF TULSA BLUES CHALLENGE ENTRY FORMS & RULES YOU WILL NEED ADOBE READER TO VIEW ![]() Whether it is the muddy waters of the Neosho River running through Miami; the crystal clear confines of beautiful Grand Lake, or something more cosmic, or spiritual, the far Northeastern parts of Oklahoma has had, and continues to produce some of Oklahoma's greatest artists - from the late-great Steve Gaines to Ace Mooreland, and sadly we must add another, Mr. Slugger Trask (Dec. 26, 1953, April 12, 2012). Slugger was a passionate individual: as a fighter, as a lover, as a sinner, as a lover of the Lord, in his music, and with his friends. He was passionate in his support of the Blues Society and for that, we will always be grateful. No more pain, no more sorrow. The Good Lord now has one wonderful keyboardist, songwriter and vocalist singing His praises. Our friend now rests in peace. Click on the newsletter below for the feature on the Slugger Trask band appearing in the January/February 2008 issue of the Blues News.

Besides our regional musicians, which we feel are some of the best in the industry, some special guests on the songs for this CD are Ray Bonneville on Harmonica on Little Joe McLerran's Month of Sundays, Malford Milligan (of 90's Storyville fame... think "Good Day For The Blues & Don't Make Me Cry") on Vocals with Jeff Parker on My Heart Is On Fire, David Teegarden on Drums (Grammy Award Winner with Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band and Teegarden & Van Winkle and JJ Cale's recent Road To Escondido) and Casey Van Beek on Bass (The Tractors) on Steve Pryor's Runaway Lullaby and Scott Ellison's Keys To My Heart (which also includes Dick Sims from Eric Clapton's 70's Tulsa band), and on Dustin Pittsley's In The Morning is Corey Mauser on Clavinet & Hammond B3 (Big Head Todd & The Monsters... you've heard them on the Nissan commercials with their remake of John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom) - Eddie Bagwell Blues Society of Tulsa, VP Contact Information: Mailing Address:
